Primary Bathroom

My client brought me a wallpaper called “Rococo and a Bottle of Rum” as inspiration for their Primary Bathroom. This laid the foundation for a playful, yet sophisticated bathroom design.

The wet room walls are clad in elongated hexagonal tiles from Heath Ceramics in a graduated color fade to mimic an underwater feeling. We added a freestanding bathtub with a striking matte yellow contrast color to introduce warmth and personality. The bottom-up window shade not only gives my client privacy, it softens the light, creating a calm, spa-like atmosphere.

At the vanity we used a warm wood to compliment the cool color of the walls. The custom sconces by Adam Wallacavage inject humor and character to our design. The bathroom fixtures are all from Watermark.

This bathroom is not only a guest bathroom, it also serves as the bathroom for the home office of a record producer for rock metal bands. The only request my client had was that he wanted a black toilet! The hallway leading to this bathroom already had a rich red paint and was lined with rock posters from the Fillmore, so I turned it up to 11 and found a skull wallpaper and an inflated metal mirror from Zieta Studios that creates an intriguing focal point to draw you down the hallway.
